This college offers a bachelor’s degree in acting. Classes include Acting, Voice and Speech, Acting for Film and Television, the Business of Acting, Production and Scene Study, as well as Theatre History, Dialects, Make-up, Script Analysis and more. The university also offers a BFA in musical theater with additional dance and music classes.
Performance opportunities: More then 10 productions are staged every year, in addition to staged readings, lab productions and improvisational theater. Some plays are presented at a 650-seat theater with state of the art lighting and sound system. Each student is required to work backstage to fully understand the production process.
Career preparation: Graduating students appear in an industry showcase. Students can attend master classes taught by theater professionals and watch the taping of the renowned Bravo series Inside the Actors Studio. This New York City acting school helps students find internships (including internships for Inside the Actors Studio) and provides actors with listings of summer stock and regional theaters. Students in their junior year have a chance to study theatre abroad and seniors receive help preparing headshots, resumes and audition pieces.

Financial Aid: University-sponsored scholarships are available (75% of entering freshmen get scholarships from Pace), as well as federal and state financial aid, on-campus employment and loans.
What you’ll need to apply: Transcripts and test scores, personal statement, headshot and resume, 2 letters of recommendation from people who know your work, satisfactory TOEFL scores if English is not your first language, an interview and an audition (phone interviews and taped auditions are accepted).
Acceptance rate: About 30 people are accepted into the program out of approximately 150 who audition.
Audition policy: Advanced students are encouraged to audition and perform under supervision to get the most out of this NYC acting university program.
