QUESTION:
I live in Lima Ohio so mostly i go to websites to find auditions and they are always ripoffs/scams. What do I do and how do i get an agent?
ANSWER:
Yes, there are a lot of audition scams on the internet. The main legitimate audition websites hardly have any auditions listed for Ohio, and when they do, it would be for Columbus. Same for agents. You would have to be in a major city to find an acting agent.
If you are serious about acting, you may want to move, first to attend a good acting school, then to find auditions, representation and acting jobs.
If you can’t move, the best thing to do is drop off your headshot and resume at local theaters and ask for information about any open auditions they may hold. Also look for roles in student films if there are any film schools around where you live.
